What excites me the most about this piece is how the flowers capture the delicate and ephemeral beauty of its inspiration, the cherry blossom. As in nature, no two flowers are identical. In creating each flower, it was not my objective to create a replica of the cherry blossom but rather something that captures its essence. Each flower is created out of a single piece of gold wire and each pedal is carefully shaped and formed by hand. Once formed, the flowers are coated with resin and painted. Tiny gold Miyuki Delica beads are arranged in the center. A delight to create and a delight to wear!
